Sunnyside is consistently ranked one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. Most of our rescues are urgent medical cases of abuse and neglect.
Blossom was found scavenging for food, ready to give birth any minute. We were able to save her because of a committed foster. She is severely emaciated and currently healing while caring for 9 puppies.
We were able to pull Little Orphan Annie from the euthanasia list at the county shelter, thanks to your donations. She is a 9 month old puppy, starved nearly to death and covered in chemical burns. An amazing foster nursed her back to health and she has found her forever home!
Chasie & Gracie were found by one of our volunteers while feeding street dogs. They were abandoned at a local dumping ground. With a committed foster, we were able to save them and find them their forever homes.
Romeo & Juliet were chained up and abandoned in the Rio Grande Valley. They were emaciated and had skin infections. They are currently healing in a foster home and receiving intensive veterinary care.
Momma Hazel and her babies were scheduled to be euthanized at the county shelter, due to overcrowding. Hazel was in terrible condition and had clearly been through so much. Thanks to a few donors we were able to save their lives.
These babies were living in filth, emaciated, and had flat feet from growing up in a kennel. The owner refused to surrender them for several months because he wanted to sell them. Finally he agreed to let us take them, they are on their healing journey.
What truly keeps us going is receiving updates from our adopters. It is the best part of our day amongst the horrors we see on the streets.
Stitch was originally named Wally because he was rescued from being beaten by his owner in a Walmart parking lot. Today he is loved and cherished. He is the star of dog training and awareness videos!
Woods was found alone as a stray, scavenging for food in Sunnyside. Today, he is loved by his forever parents and constantly makes us all jealous with his many wilderness adventures!
Payton was rescued as a stray who stuck her head in the wrong yard. She was being torn apart by two packs of dogs and we had to rush her to the emergency vet. Now, she is living the life she deserves with her forever parents and fur-siblings!
Daisy was hit by a car in Sunnyside. She was fostered by a wonderful family that took her to many, many vet appointments and surgeries to fix her leg. They decided they couldn't live without Daisy and adopted her!
Miriam was saved from the euthanasia list at the county shelter. She spent 4 years with us as our "resident good dog", we used her to test if other dogs were dog friendly. Now she is adopted and the light of her parents' lives!
When Baby was rescued, she was darting in and out of traffic. She nearly died several times. She now lives up North with her forever family who send us updates at every holiday!
