What Does It Cost to Care for Houston Rescue Dogs?
Every rescue dog requires ongoing medical care, food, preventatives, rehabilitation, and foster support before they are ready for adoption into loving homes.
- Spay surgery: Approx $250–$500 per dog (depends on age)
- Neuter surgery: Approx $150–$350 per dog (depends on age)
- Puppy Vaccines: Approx $100–$200 total for full puppy vaccine series (typically 3 rounds)
- Adult Vaccines & Heartworm Test: Approx $80 –$150 annually
- Preventatives & Dewormer: Approx $20–$50 per month per dog
- Food for One Small Dog: Approx $30–$50 monthly
- Food for One Large Dog: Approx $70–$120 monthly
